St. Matthew Lutheran Church, serving over 250 families in the Farmington Valley of Connecticut, is a member congregation of the New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). You are invited to worship with us.

bullet New York City Bus Trip May 17. Join St. Matthew family and friends on a trip to New York on Saturday, May 17. Spend the day on your own taking in the sights. We depart St. Matthew at 7:45 a.m. Sign-up TODAY in the Gathering Space. Cost is $30 per person, due when you sign-up.

bullet Property Clean-up May 17, 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. All are welcome! Come when you can, leave when you must - many hands make light work.

bullet Youth Group May 18. We are going to meet at church at 6:30 p.m. and then go on a Scavenger Hunt! If you plan to attend, please let Vicar Mark know so he can plan for enough drivers!

bullet Noon Readers will meet on Monday, May 19 at Shirley Slattery’s home, 22 Forest Hill Dr. Simsbury, 651-5697. (Note location change). We will discuss The Magician’s Assistant by Ann Patchett. Join us with a sandwich and some good questions.

bullet Evening Readers will meet on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. at church to discuss Identical Strangers: A Memoir of Twins Separated and Reunited by Paula Bernstein and Elyse Schein. On June 12 we will travel to the Simsbury Library to hear the authors speak. All are welcome!

bullet Prayer Shawl Ministry. You are invited to gather on Tuesday, May 20 at 7:00 p.m. for an hour or so. Knitting instructions available, conversation and fellowship are wonderful and with prayer we remember those in need. Thanks for joining us.

bullet Sign-Up for Thrivent/Habitat Build Days on June 5th and/or June 28th. If you are interested in helping out, please sign up on the volunteer lists posted in the Gathering Space. If you wish to make a financial contribution to support the construction of the home, please make a check out to SMLC with the notation “Thrivent Habitat Build” and place in the offering plate. You must be 16 or over but anyone willing can help!
