St. Matthew is a teaching congregation for pastors.  We have had a seminarian in residence since 1986 – that is twenty-one interns!  Every year a student comes from one of our eight ELCA seminaries to live and do ministry among us.

Currently we apply for an intern through the Contextual Leadership Initiative, a cooperation of Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California. Our Intern Committee accompanies our Vicar throughout their year as we prepare future leaders for the church.
