Congratulations Mrs. Robinson on your retirement and many thanks for your ministry that has touched the lives of so many; with music, faith, and love.

bulletEvening Readers: For those of you who plan to attend the reading of Identical Strangers: A Memoir of Twins Separated and Reunited at the Simsbury Library on June 12, please call the Library at 658-7663 to register. Registration is required. If anyone wishes to carpool from St. Matthew, we will meet at 6:00 p.m. that evening. Contact Debbie Steinberg at deborahsteinberg@mac.com or 463-9212. Our regular meeting will be June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at church to discuss The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama.

bulletJune 22nd is the final Youth Gathering of the year. We are going to be gathering here at St. Matthew on that Sunday at 4:30 p.m. for a barbecue and fellowship. Please bring a salad or dessert to share with each other. If you have any questions, please talk to Vicar Mark.

bullet Sign-Up for Thrivent/Habitat Build Days on June 28 and/or September 6. If you are interested in helping out, please sign up on the volunteer lists posted in the Gathering Space. If you wish to make a financial contribution to support the construction of the home, please make a check out to SMLC with the notation “Thrivent Habitat Build” and place in the offering plate. Anyone who is over 16 can help.

bullet Pastor Carter will begin his Summer Sabbatical Study Leave this afternoon. He will return on Sunday, August 31. We wish him a time of refreshment and renewal.

bulletVacation Bible Camp (VBC). This summer the children of St. Matthew will have the opportunity to take a Friendship Trek. On this trek children ages 3 through 5th Grade will meet our Forever Friend Jesus at St. Matthew from 9:30 – noon, July 14-18. Registration forms are in the Gathering Space. Speak to Vicar Mark if you have any questions. Volunteers Wanted! Anyone in Sixth Grade through retirement who would be willing to help out in any way, please contact Vicar Mark at 673-3301 or morf001@luthersem.org.

bullet How does your garden grow? With your help, of course! Please sign-up in the Large Gathering Space to help keep St. Matthew’s garden areas watered and well-groomed during the hot summer months. Sign-up for a week or two as your schedule permits. Contact Mabel Howard with any questions at 658-6410 or Howardese@aol.com.

bullet Dates are available for Sunday flowers. If you would like to donate flowers on any of these Sundays, June 22, July 13, August 17, 24 or 31, please sign-up on the Flower Chart in the Narthex. Cost is $30.00.

bullet The need goes on. Food for the Farmington Valley Food Pantries can be left in the basket outside of the church office. Canned goods and nonperishable food items are welcome.
