Adults & Young Adults

Adults at St Matthew find connection with others and opportunities to learn and serve.

Adult Forum

Adult Forum meets in the Gathering Space throughout the School Year from 10:15 AM-11:15 AM. Pastors and lay leaders facilitate discussion of many topics that engage our faith. Come once in a while or every week.

Evening Readers

Do you like to read and discuss with a group? Evening Readers does just that. We meet the 2nd Monday 7:00 PM each month in the Conference Room. Contact: Debbie Steinberg (deborahsteinberg@mac.com )

Prayer Shawl Ministry

What is the PSM at St. Matthew?  Prayer Shawl Ministry. Volunteers knit or crochet a variety of prayer shawls for gifting to members and/or friends of St. Matthew.  Some needle workers gather once a month to work, share prayer concerns; some work at home and add their shawls to the inventory.  Inventory is stored in a designated closet in the Nursery Room.  Shawls are made of machine washable yarns.   Pocket prayer shawls are also available — small, the size of a bookmark, easy to carry with you.

Ways to support the PSM at St. Matthew -- Pray for us! Attend a monthly meeting to learn more, purchase 3 skeins of homespun yarn [all one color or a variety of colors] and leave them in the PSM bag in the coat closet nearest the Office.   Questions? Contact Sandy Betsch (ssbetsch@comcast.net).

Bible Study

Our morning Bible Study meets the first and third Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM except for July and August.  Bible Study connects the Bible to everyday living.  No experience necessary!

Other Educational Offerings

Seasonal educational offerings for adults continue the life long learning of faith.

Young Adults

Young Adults have been meeting regularly on Zoom and may be meeting again in-person this fall.  Our tradition had been to meet for lunch following worship on the third Sunday of each month.  Contact Pastor Brian if you’re interested in joining us at pastorbrian@stmatthewavon.org.
