At St Matthew, we practice joyful giving. We encourage members to grow in generosity, because giving as a spiritual practice leads to greater gratitude and fulfilment.
Automatic Offering
Setup an automatic recurring gift to make things easier for you. Our electronic giving platform makes it easier and quicker for you to give.
Simply call the church office at 860-673-3301 or email office@stmatthewavon.org and our Office Administrator will mail you the easy form and set up a monthly offering.
Sunday Offering
Place checks or cash in the offering plate during the Sunday service. Checks placed in the offering basket are recorded on the Sunday when they are received. In order to receive the appropriate documentation you need for tax purposes your name and address must be clearly identifiable on your check.

Checks are recorded on the following Sunday upon receipt.
If your bank has automated bill paying you can set up St. Matthew Lutheran Church to receive electronically generated checks, allowing you an easier way to be systematic in your giving. For gifts made by mail at year-end, IRS regulations require that the postmark stamped on your envelope have the same year as that for which you intend to receive credit for the gift.

We ask that donors notify Office@stmatthewavon.org to let us know they have made a PayPal donation and what it is for, such as pledge/operating fund, a payment for flowers or others items, or a gift to the capital campaign, or a donation to one of the funds in memory of a loved one.
