Sunday School meets throughout the school year from 9:40-10:40 AM for pre-school through sixth grade students. Our time begins with Sunday School’s music opening led
by Richard Silbereis, St. Matthew’s Director of Music. Children sing at 11am worship the fourth Sunday of every month and participate in a yearly Christmas Pageant. Our
current curriculum is Dig-In’s “Bible In One Year” which introduces children to key Bible stories from both the Old and New Testament. We also include several lessons from
the Montessori based curriculum Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and have several Sundays each year when we combine with our adult education class for intergenerational Mission Sundays.
If you are interested in enrolling your child, please contact the office, (860) 673-3301, or email Pastor Brian at email@example.com.
Children are a valued part of our worshiping community! Children’s sermons in weekly worship educate and engage people of all ages on the biblical text. Children are invited to participate at their level in worship, and may take a break in the nursery when needed.
Confirmation is a two year program of service and learning geared for students in 7th and 8th grade. We meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 PM. To enroll, contact Pastor Julie at the office, (860) 673-3301.
Youth Group includes grades 7-12 and meets regularly every first Sunday morning 9:40-10:40am and every third Sunday evening 5:00-7:00 PM. There’s always food involved whether it’s doughnuts, pizza, or a cookout. In addition to these regularly scheduled monthly events, youth group also hosts events like church lock-ins, snow-tubing trips, leaf-raking, mission trips to Maine, and the ELCA National Youth Gathering.
If you have questions about Youth Group, email Pastor Brian at firstname.lastname@example.org.
St Matthew gathers as a community of all generations in events like the Advent Workshop, Chili Bake Off, and Church Picnic.
