We’ve entered an exciting new chapter in the life of St. Matthew! Our sanctuary, as part of our sacred space - where we worship and find comfort and community - is ready to be renewed to serve our congregation today and for generations to come. It’s called a refresh because the updates preserve the beauty and character we cherish now, while improving the comfort, acoustics and accessibility.
Some of the changes include:
-
New canted pew layout with cushioned seats, improved accessibility, new flooring, and enhanced acoustics and lighting.
-
Expanded chancel area with fewer steps, a new communion rail, a stone backdrop highlighting the existing Christ the King cross more prominently.
-
Preserved historic items including chancel carvings and light fixtures from the congregation’s original 1884 sanctuary in Collinsville.

As we take these important steps forward together, we invite you to prayerfully consider contributing generously to ensure St. Matthew continues to be a sacred space for generations to come!
