2026 SEASON
Saturday, May 16, 4:00 p.m.: Gems from the Jazz Age
The Modernistics Trio – Ted Powers, vocals, tap-dance, guitar, banjo and harmonica; Peter H. Bloom, flute; and Dave Zox, double-bass

Called “absolutely joyous, virtuosic and wonderful” (Concerts at the Crane), The Modernistics Trio will perform Gems from the Jazz Age – swinging songs, tap-dance numbers, and jazz instrumentals by Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, and other master tunesmiths of the Jazz Age. Among the selections are Blue Skies, Singing in the Rain, Let’s Misbehave, and Ellington’s Black and Tan Fantasy. Ted, Peter, and Dave have played together for decades, and each of them has impressive credentials performing in the U.S. and abroad. “An excellent musical group…delightful!” (The Essex Daily News, NJ).
